Thames Valley Police has released an e-fit of a man officers want to speak to after a woman was sexually assaulted in Gallys Road, Windsor. The force published the appeal on Monday 19 October, almost two months after the attack.
What the police say happened
The force says the incident happened at about 9pm on Friday 21 August. A woman in her forties was walking along Gallys Road when she became aware of a man walking closely behind her. When she sped up, so did he.
The force says he then approached her and asked for directions to a nearby park, before grabbing her wrist and forcing her to touch him over his clothing.
Officers say they have made door-to-door enquiries and reviewed CCTV since the offence was reported. They still want to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time, even if they did not see the incident itself.
The man police want to speak to
The force describes him as:
- mixed-race or black, in his early thirties
- of slim build, between 5ft 4in and 5ft 8in tall
- with large brown eyes, short black hair and a black frizzy beard
- wearing grey and white jogger-style trousers, a hoodie or jumper, and a New York Yankees-style baseball cap believed to be white
Police say they would like to speak to him in connection with the incident.
PC Gurmat Athwal, of the East Berkshire Local Command Unit, said: “If you recognise the man pictured, or believe the description matches someone you know, please get in touch with Thames Valley Police.”
He added: “The victim has shown great courage in reporting this offence and we are carrying out a thorough investigation.”
